Three Piece Distance Golf Balls - A Look At The Market
Three
piece balls have been around for a while but three piece balls with an emphasis
on distance and marketed principally to the recreational golfer are a relatively
new addition to the golf ball line up.
As with two piece golf balls they comprise of a core (either rubber or liquid) and an outer layer (normally made of Ionomer or Surlyn), but in between these two layers is a an additional layer which is normally made up of an enhanced rubber or a liquid which makes these balls softer than their two piece counterparts which in turn gives them more spin allowing a more talented golfer to have more control over the balls direction and distance.
If you're a progressive golfer and are looking to start "owning" your shots these three piece balls provide a great step up on the way to the even softer three and four piece tour level balls used by the pros.
